"Luck Is What Happens When Preparation Meets Opportunity" -Seneca

Benyamin Davaji is an assistant professor in the Electrical and Computer Engineering department at Northeastern University. Ben's research is focused on integrated microsystems, data-guided design and nanofabrication, ultrasound microsystems for sensing and computation, and MEMS calorimetry for microbiology and biosensor development. Prior to joining Northeastern in Jan 2022, he was a postdoctoral associate in the school of electrical and computer engineering at Cornell University. He received his Ph.D. in the Electrical and Computer Engineering department at Marquette University.

He is the recipient of the 2021 Corning best paper award, 2019 Cornell achievement award for excellence in mentoring and 2016 MEMS shark tank prize at the Hilton Head Conference. Prior to joining Cornell, Ben worked with Prof. Chung Hoon Lee on microthermal analysis and thermal microfluidic systems at Nanodevices Laboratory at Marquette and received a Ph.D. in electrical engineering. During his Ph.D., he received the 2014 IEEE Larry Hause award and College of Engineering best TA award.
